This place can be summed up in one word... fun. It's an adult playground in a place that should house a dive bar of sorts. Pop-a-shot, fun mini golf course, skee-ball and most importantly, a very capable bar are all there for your pleasure. There was food around, but who could eat when you're trying to break the high score on the Hoop Fever machine. Drinks hover around the 10-12$ range and it's 12$ to play mini golf, but it's all worth it for a fun night out! Do it.

Super fun way to spend an afternoon with friends or a date! Can't attest to food or drink and it got hot and a bit crowded at times, but the course was still really fun, creative, interactive, and delightful. We came on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm and didn't have to wait. We finished the course around 6pm, and by then there was quite a line.

I don't like mini golf (or as my family calls it, "putt putt") because I play it too aggressively. I blame this entirely on my career as a teenage field hockey phenomenon. As such, I haven't played in ages (to prevent harming myself and/or others). But was I ever tempted to break my self-imposed rule here. Putt Putt... INSIDE? With a Dia De Los Muertos/Gothic-y feel? WHILE DRINKING?! Yes, all day. (Side note: this place needs to be copied and pasted right into Portland, Maine. They would do soooooooooooo well during the cold, snowy months). Alas, poor Yorick did not get to play (I probably would have been kicked out for swinging like a hockey player anyway). However I did enjoy some cocktails with friends while watching others get their inner kid on in the games room (Skee-Ball and Hoops, anyone?). What did I try? Some strawberry infused vodka prosecco cocktail that was well worth the $12ish price tag. Refreshing and summery, and not at all cloyingly sweet. All of my friends cocktails were just as delicious, well balanced, and flavorful. Will definitely be returning the next time I'm on the West Coast for some putt putt and drinky drinks.

Can you think of a better way to spend an evening than sinking balls into holes with the help of a stick? :D Urban Putt is a cute indoor mini golf course with booze and bites. The first time, we arrived shortly after they opened and there was no line at all. However, the next couples time, we walked in around 7-9 and the line was wrapped around the corner. No biggie though, the line moved quickly and the booze helped entertain. The design and engineering of Urban Putt is quite impressive! All 14 holes are unique and creative. I'm always amazed by how they cramed a full mini-golf course into such a small space. Best of all, ou don't have to worry about freezing in the cold SF night since it's indoors. At $12/person, it's not exactly cheap, but an awesome date spot. If you happen to be catching a bite, I recommend the chicken and waffles skewers!

Oh so cute! Oh so hip! (cue heart eyes popping out of sockets) It was ridiculously crowded for a Wednesday night. Like elbow to elbow in the bar area, but somehow this didn't seem to affect the golfing section too badly. Also you can't bring in your drinks to the golfing area, so bottoms up ya'll! Everyone's buzzing (or maybe just me), and each putting hole still passed by smoothly! Not once out of the 14 holes did we have to wait long for a group to finish. I was super excited to try each hole bc they were all so creative and not like your usual golfland or malibu. There was even one hole where you didn't need your putts! You just place your ball in the game and compete with another player by tilting the table to avoid any traps and reach the goal. Upstairs is a restaurant if you wanted to include dinner for this perfect date, but we didn't try it out this time. But overall for $12 a head-- I would say this is a great place to kick it with friends or take out a date!

The family stopped in here 2 days in a row. Tackle dinner or late afternoon snack, games and a round of golf easily in under 2 hours (we're averaging 90 minutes)! Great menus. If you have time for a proper dinner, block off time for the restaurant!

Who knew they would have such gorgeous cocktails here? While I didn't stay long or partake in any of the games (instead chatted with some colleagues and watched the others kill it at skee-ball), my lavender-gin elixir was enough for me. Strong, well-made, and perfectly refreshing, it made the perfect companion to my wallflower ways. Cocktails were around $12 and worth every penny Still, even though a few of us opted out of the arcade-type games, there were still plenty of spots to stand around without being in the way. Overall, it's a quirky, sem-divey spot, and I mean that in the best way possible. Next time, I'm totally in for mini golf.

People need to recognize this is a RESTAURANT as well as an athletic establishment (mini golf is a sport). I came to dine expecting typical bar menu but was absolutely flabbergasted by the high quality of the food. They got almost everything you can find at a solid restaurant including items like poutine, deep dish pizza, ribs, and fish. Every dish has a nice little twist that's unique to here like crisp quinoa-scallion cake and a magically delicious buttermilk biscuit with honey-jalapeno butter. The golf is also badass too. The queue can be long as you wait for groups to get through the holes but each course is engineered to capture your mind. Great to come with a date for drinks and fun to bring out that inner kid in you. From food to fun, everything they do here is creative and well thought out.

Awesome concept for a bar! All of the 14 holes are unique and fun! Course took us about an hour. Drink up before you start because you can't have any alcohol on the course, but you can bring food along with you! Food looked very good and the cocktails were unique and tasty. They averaged about $11 for a drink and to play the course was $12. 10/10 recommend!

Cute little spot for a good date or with a small group of 4 friends maximum. When you enter you can pay right away - $12 for 14 holes. The place is a little bit small, but you learn to make it work with the people behind and in front of you when going through the course. Each hole is very unique and it isn't your usual miniature golf course. These balls go through contraptions just to make the experience more memorable. There's also a bar before you enter the course in which my friends and I got a shot before starting. My friends really liked the pickle shot where they chase with pickle juice. It was a cool experience, and definitely want to return with my boyfriend one day. It is also less crowded on the weekdays - so aim for that!

What an cool concept. I ended up here on a whim and I couldn't be happier I did. The drinks were good, the food was good, and the mini golf was the best I've seen. The bar has a small bar area near the front, a mini golf area (duh), and an area to eat upstairs. My friends and I ended up meeting some people upstairs for the food and then getting in line to play after, since when we got there they were estimating an hour wait. It was a solid meal overall but I couldn't wait to get to the game. We went and got in line and waited like 20 minutes to play. We were amazed by the complexity of some of the Rube-Goldberg machines that were powering this course. There was even a digital hole and a labyrinth race hole. You really have to go and check it out, the pictures don't do it justice. After the game we had another round and then headed off, as the bar was at last call. Definitely will go again, it'd be a great spot for a date.

Food : Pizza - would get again Poutine - would get again Chicken waffle skewer - would get again Corn dog Apricot salad - Food is good!! Service Good Atmosohere It's cool the restaurant is upstairs and I like it has a quaint feel and the history is cool how it used to be a Morgue ha! Downstairs has the putt putt golf also with full bar. Excellent

I've seen so many of my friends come to this place and I finally got the chance to try this place out! I came here on a Thursday evening around 7PM with 3 other people. Admission is $12/ person... You basically are paying for your ball and golf stick. There wasn't much of a wait, but my friends and I did have to skip around to different hole (there's a total of 14). Space here is pretty tight... I kind of wish there was more room and the holes' courses were longer, but then again, this place is located in San Francisco - so props to the founders of Urban Putt for putting this place together! My favorite hole would be one one that's like a labyrinth! It's basically like a race to see which one places first. FYI - I think the left side has handicap on because it seems a LOT easier to not have your ball fall into one of the wholes. Also the dia de la muertos one and the one with the black lights on - those are sweet/ fun! Definitely worth it to check this place out if you're in the city and need some time to kill that doesn't necessarily include drinking... Though you CAN drink here, you can't bring your drinks to the courses because of spilling & all that jazz.

ZOMG! What an awesome, fun, extravagant, amazingly cool place!!!!!!! Yeah, that's right! It gets all of those exclamation marks, aiight?! When my husband asked if I wanted to go mini-golfing, I was like, "Okaaayyyyy. Suuuuureee." I should've known San Francisco would turn all my other mini-golfing experiences on their heads. I mean, Urban Putt is thebomb.com . First, we had dinner upstairs. My husband and I are low-carbing it and I was having a bout of the sads because I really wanted some chicken and waffles and stuffs. This was our cheat meal of the week, but we didn't wanna go too crazy. I sadly ordered Blackened Mahi Mahi and was prepared to eat some dry fish with a ton of pepper and some crusty ol' quinoa. Bahahahaha NEWSFLASH! MY BLACKENED MAHI MAHI CAME, and it was like, "HA! Fooled ya', Chandra!" Seriously, it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo great. Good. Yummy. Nommy! YASSSS! It filled me up, and I didn't have to look at the table next to me with longing eyes as they chowed down on their chicken and waffles. (BTW, my husband got the watermelon ribs and he said they were delicious. Insert thumbs up emoji here). After a delicious dinner, I was all excited to start golfing. What I loved: 1. The fact that that the golf balls are in old candy dispensers. 2. Every lane is ridiculous creative and fun. 3. The jiving vibe. This place is so cool, and I'm glad I go to experience it. I can't wait to take some friends here. On our way out we saw a soft serve ice cream machine. I almost got sad (because ya' know, low carb), but then I remembered the delicious blackened mahi mahi I ate, and I told that soft serve, "Bye, Felicia." Thanks, Urban Putt!

In a nutshell, Urban Putt is indoor San Francisco themed mini golf. Why didn't I visit this place earlier? After being one of my bookmarks for a really long time, we decided to visit Urban Putt this past Saturday night. We arrived around 9pm and was told there would be an hour wait. It's $12 a game. You go up to the person in the person in the front, pay for your round of golf and are given a token. You then can use your token to get your golf ball. Then you pick your golf club and stand in line to wait your turn. They have a bar right before the designated area for mini golf so you're easily able to occupy your time. When we went we were told an hour wait, but it was more like half an hour. We bought a couple of reasonable priced drinks at the bar and before we knew it it was our turn for mini golf. All the rounds were pretty entertaining. The longest wait we had was for the digital golf round. Other than that, the rounds were pretty fluid and we didn't have to wait very long for each one. There's food upstairs in case you were hungry before or after mini golf. I will definitely visit this place again. It was a lot of fun and I think the city needs more places like this for the people that don't feel like a club/bar atmosphere.

Fun double date!! Every hole was innovative, creative and delightful. Found so many hidden surprises and mysterious gems throughout. My favorite game was the labyrinth. Fun for all ages. This place has a bar and separate party room. But the course itself is extremely small. Though the owners did a very good job utilizing the small space, the course gets packed quickly. I can only imagine how crazy the course can be when there's more then 10 groups on the course at a time.

My work rented out Urban Putt for the day, and in all honesty, it was a great place for the event. Not being the biggest mini golf fan, and seeing how crowded the golf part got with how many people were stuffed into the various corners on the bottom floor, I resigned myself to the upstairs area where all the food and drinks were being served. With our large group, the food was pre-ordered, and much to my dismay, the corn dogs are no longer an option on their menu! Anyway, I was fortunate enough to snag a chicken and waffle skewer, which was delicious. We were provided with the following options for food: Pizzas: - The Fairway - The Mulligan - The Links Salads: - Sweet Gems Caesar - Baby Spring Mixed Greens Other Items: - Pulled Pork Sliders - Crab Cakes - Mission Mini cupcakes in Chocolate and Red Velvet - Brownie bites - Cinnamon donuts To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect in regards to the food. I had the a slice of The Fairway and The Links, both were pretty good but nothing I'd write home about. I passed on the salads, loved the chicken & waffle skewer, and tried to not overindulge in the cinnamon donut or mini cupcakes. Overall, I was surprised with how good the food was for being a place that entertains and feeds people. I would have liked to have tried the corn dog, but alas, I suppose I can settle for the fried chicken and waffles next time!

This is the PERFECT place for three situations: 1. dining out with kids 2. the first date, where you need something to distract you from conversational awkwardness 3. a night out that isn't yet another dinner-and-a-movie We were scenario #1, and this place was a huge hit with us and the kids (ages 9 and 11). The restaurant is loud but not overwhelming, the service was great, and the food was totally enjoyable -- but nothing I had was mind-blowing. Also, NB it's not that wide a menu -- there were only 4 or 5 entrees outside their list of pizzas and sandwiches, plus some starters (which are more interesting than the mains). What IS mind-blowing is the golf course: it's really more a set of art installations than anything. Each hole is a unique, creative experience, from the Day of the Dead Rube Goldberg machine to the tabletop tilting labyrinth. It's really beautiful, and bears no resemblance to the kitschy experience of mini-golf in general. All in all, a terrific night out. We loved it!

This review is only for the dining experience at Urban Putt. What a great concept! Outside, it looks like just a plain apartment, when you walk inside, its like someone pimped out their apartment with a bar and a really cool San Francisco themed miniature gold course. We came to celebrate a friend's graduation from law school and had reservations for 10 people on the 2nd level. We had plans to play miniature golf downstairs but ended up chatting the night away over food, beer and watched the Warriors game. The restaurant upstairs is spacious with flat screen TVs all around and a bar in the back corner. They serve mostly California comfort style food, really fatty, cheesy and heavy. Mmmmm...fat and carbs. We started off with a couple of pitchers of beer and cider for the ladies. Two of my favorites starters were the Fried Green Olives with goat cheese and fire roasted Jalepeno filling. It was battered into a ball and deep fried. Delicious! I also enjoyed the Poutine with slow-cooked duck confit, belfiore curd cheese on top of a bed of kennebec fries and gravy. A deliciously heavy dish meant to be shared with all your friends to minimize the fat intake on one person. For the deep dish pizzas, order right when you get there because it takes a while to cook. If you're a mushroom lover, stay away from the "Out of Bounds" because it was a total miss. It comes with shiitake and oyster mushrooms, leeks, wild argula pesto, pine nuts, fresh herb goat cheese, and bechamel sauce. There wasn't much flavor and I was disappointed because I am a mushroom lover and it just tasted very plain. "The Caddyshack" however, was delicious! Beware, it is quite spicy with the jalepenos in it! It also comes loaded with applewood smoked bacon, asparagus, grape tomatoes, bellwether ricotta cheese, mozzarella in tomato sauce. Definitely a hit at our table! Had a really great time, service was friendly, they kept the beer flowing and allowed us to stay for hours. I will be back!

Place is small and gets crowded quickly, but is an amazingly fun mini golf course. No alcohol on the course. Lockers to keep your stuff while playing. Not a difficult course at all. The food looks better prepared than the menu suggests.

I didn't know what to expect with Urban Putt, but indoor Mini Golf plus a bar and restaurant intrigued me! My boyfriend and I showed up around 7pm on a Friday evening to play mini golf. $12 per person to play one round on their 14 hole course. Worth every penny!! Animated holes with moving parts and music. I loved them! I was laughing so hard going through this cute course. Each hole is a tribute a certain part of the city and it's just so creative. You really get the chance to admire the creativity while going through this course. I normally get bored halfway through mini golf when I go at home, but I didn't want to stop playing here at Urban Putt. Yes, it was crowded and we had to wait to play each hole, but you'll be entertained by how truly awesome this place is, plus you'll get to know your mini golf player neighbors. Super fun! They also have a bar and a restaurant here. I didn't order anything to drink, but they had multiple beers on tap and also offer mixed drinks. They also have a restaurant on the second floor, but it was an hour wait when we attempted to put our name in at around 8pm, so we decided to go elsewhere for food. I'd highly recommend Urban Putt to check out at least once, no matter if you're a tourist or a local!! Cheers!

I didn't know so much awesome could fit in one place! 14 holes of mini golf ($12) + full bar ($$) + Games (Skeeball, bball, etc.)?! This place will get you from zero to FUN real quick! The awesomeness: - 14 really fun holes of putt putt. I mean FUN! Some are well animated while all are well decorated. - Full bar with over a dozen beers on tap! Perfect for settling up those post - mini golf debts. - Great location! Only a couple blocks away from the 24th and Mission BART Station. The not so awesome: - The beers range between $6 to $8 which seemed a little expensive (hence dropping a star). The house cocktails are around $7 which are more reasonably priced. I ordered The Special which was a baby High Life + a shot of Knob Creek for $8. - No alcoholic beverages on the course! This is probably for the best but I'm POSITIVE a few more refreshments would have made me play better. - The place is just big enough but it can get busy. I cam with 4 others during the middle of Easter and it wasn't too bad. We were able to walk onto the course without any issues but we ended up having to wait about 5 minutes at each hole. I can't imagine what it's like during a busy time. I recommend Urban Putt as a fun date spot or just a place to bring friends. I'm already planning on another visit.

Just reviewing on the mini-golf experience alone. I haven't tried the food except an ice cream cone. This is by far one of the coolest mini-golf experiences I've ever had. My son absolutely loves this place. The homemade mechanics and theme for each hole is so unique. Fun atmosphere and one day I will try the food.

Cute spot for indoor golf! It can definitely get crowded but most people/groups would just skip around to any free hole that opens up. If you try and wait to do it in order it can take awhile. Especially hole #4, this hole held everyone up because it is played on a big screen, for some reason no one can really hit the sensor right. So almost everyone gets six swings on this hole. All the holes are really creative and entertaining. Urban Putt also has great snacks and drinks. They have a good variety of beer on tap. They also have a restaurant upstairs that our party of eight enjoyed. Parking is street parking and if you know Mission it can be difficult at times to find something right away. Restrooms: Separate restrooms for men and women. The women's restroom has two or three stalls and it was clean and stocked.

Miniputt is sort of a classic summer date, so of course when my boyfriend suggested we go whack some balls around, I suggested Urban Putt. Urban Putt is a tiny little space, but they've crammed a lot of really cool holes into this little space. It's super fun, even though the space is so small that you'll be waiting for two or three groups in front of you to finish up. It takes a really, really long time to finish the course, mostly because there is such a big back log. Still, it's really fun. It's a great way to spend some time with friends or with your significant other.

Urban Putt is a swanky indoor mini golf course/ bar in the Mission district that has become a popular venue for people looking to enjoy themselves for happy hour or for a good ole time. Unless you know what you're looking for, the Urban putt location looks more like a standard apartment building. In fact when we walked up I actually thought it was a house party someone was having and not a successful business. It's located on a corner lot and theres a bouncer waiting outside to check IDs for verification in order to enter. They open at 4:30PM Monday- Friday. Which is prime for people looking for a different kind of happy hour location, and they remain open till midnight. However on the weekends they open at 11am, in case serious golfers wanna beat all the crowds. As soon as you walk-in, to you're left you notice the bar area which is always packed with professionals enjoying a cold bear or mixed drinks. There's a small front desk where you pay for you're golf equipment and where you're golf balls are located. When you finally get started you have the feeling you're in a confined carnival style environment. With all the lights, games and mini golf setup it's hard not too. The golf course isn't very big, in fact I was a little disappointed because it seemed smaller than what I had heard about. But the golf courses are very detailed and you have twelve rounds of it to play through. From the classic Victorian houses that shake to resemble and earthquake, to the underwater themed hole where it seems like you're playing in the watery depths. You even a submarine hole, With the help of the black light room right next door. It's very cool to play through and you feel like you're transported into that environment. But If you're not into golf so much, you can take the elevator to the second floor where there's a completely separate bar and kitchen area where you can order food. In my opinion this is a great place to take someone on a first date. It's convenient, fun and has what looks to be great food. But With everything there are a few things that can make this places a little better for people experiencing it for the first time. 1) The lines: I always get there between 5PM- 7PM, because anytime after that, especially Friday-Sunday. You're guaranteed to be waiting at least a half hour to get in. It just gets way to packed for the size of the venue. 2) Moving at a snails pace: because it's not a big venue you'll have clusters of people trying to play at the same time. So taking 10-15 mins to play a single hole, isn't uncommon. But is very frustrating when it's hot and you're in there like sardines. 3) Finally knowing where the Restuarant is: it could've been me but I didn't see any real signs of a second floor Resturant there. I assumed you ordered food and they brought it to you at the bar or while golfing. Maybe having it clearer can alleviate some of the people on the main floor. I would surely get a meal first then try to burn it off while golfing. Summarizing my experience at Urban Putt. Great bar area, but it's not very big and can get crowded fast. The bar area drinks are really good but can get pricey, that's if you keep downing them while having fun. Although I didn't eat, I will say the food looked and smelled delicious. Next time I go I will definitely be munching on some of the goodies there. So go and have fun and enjoy some golf just remember the earlier you get there the better.

What a strange, cool, crazy place. Downstairs, there's a bar, some arcade games, and just as the name implies, there is a 14-hole** mini golf course built right int the space. The artistry on the course was completely incredible--I'm talking sculpture, mechanics, electrics, woodwork, and metalwork. It was amazing! However, it was *very* crowded, but I'm not complaining too much because *indoor mini golf*! Upstairs, there's a restaurant that was a combo pub/comfort food. I had a salad with chicken, which was excellent, but the rest of the menu focused on heavier foods (fried stuff, grits, etc.). That being said, the waitstaff couldn't have been nicer. Super hipster-y vibe here, which made me feel cooler than I actually am. Two thumbs up for Urban Putt! ** After a very kind email from one of the owners, I have amended my review to state there are 14 holes, not 13! Thanks for the correction!

The perfect date spot! It's often hard to find a place where you can get food, drinks, and entertainment all in one place for a great price, but Urban Putt certainly knows how to pull off this trifecta. It's a mini-golf course goldmine offering quick food service and plenty of drinks to lubricate a night of fun and enjoyment. With a 14-hole course that's steampunk themed and certainly more than just an aim-for-the-hole min-putt, you'll be delighted with a unique experience you won't find in another other city. Urban Putt delivers a high energy, unique experience that proves to be the best alternative entertainment destination for beers, birdies, brunch, and bogeys.

Lots of fun and great drinks! It's almost like an adult arcade. We all know we love these games (the basketball shooting game, skeeball, mini-golf) and now there's a place to do all of that while getting your drink on. I went there with a group in a Saturday night and it was packed. This didn't detract from our good time, though, and we enjoyed chatting while waiting in-line for golf. They have a great selection of delicious drinks and the most enjoyable may be the frozen Irish coffee. yum! I recommend this place to 21~37year olds. Definitely a younger crowd and with almost no place to sit, you will standing most if not the entire time.

Fun times to be had at Urban Putt. A clever idea of combing mini-golf course, restaurant, and bar. The first floor is a bit tight but can accommodate approximately 25 people comfortably playing mini-golf. Anymore than that makes it a bit more difficult to maneuver. The dining area can possibly hold up to 60 seats for all to dine. The idea is great fun with bar and snacks! Too bad you can't take your drink with you while you play. It would also be nice if the bartender could smile! After all, it's an adult miniature golf, bar and restaurant. If they aren't having fun, how will everyone else chime to the good times? As for the restaurant, the food is fancy pub fare. A bit of everything for all to enjoy. Though, you may find yourself needing that extra mile walk afterwords to burn off a few calories. What you need to know: - Gets pretty crowded pretty fast - Parking can be a real pain - Two floors - First floor offers a bar area, mini-golf ($12 per adult), arcade basketball ($1 per game)and - - skeeball ($1 per game). The second floor is where the restaurant is located - Started as a Kickstarter project - Location was a former mortuary, Driscoll's Mortuar - They offer lockers for your valuables ($1 dollar for lock in four quarters)

Overall, urban putt was a really good experience. There was two of us and we went to the restaurant upstairs before we started playing. Started off with their fried chicken waffle skewers with half & half fries and sweet potato. Those skewers were delicious. I'd get that for my meal. Got the flat iron steak next which was good but a bit cold by the time it got to me. Maybe it cooled down faster because it was precut to me. Still tasted good and I was satisfied. For dessert we got their dark chocolate bread pudding and vanilla creme brûlée. Both were good though I'd prefer the bread pudding next time. With drinks, our bill came out to $95 before tip. Not too bad for the amount of food we ordered. Once finished we headed downstairs for a drink. The bar is really small and packed. Half of the bar floor is taken by people in line to golf. We opted out of another drink because we didn't want to wait in that crowd. We just went straight to line. The line took about 30 mins to start. Some of the people were moving pretty slow, but we didn't mind the wait. We just started talking to people in line. We got to start at about 11pm and got to hole 12 out of 14 before they had to close. They close at midnight though they did start kicking people out a bit early. The staff was very friendly though so nobody minded. Service was really good both upstairs and downstairs. Even the security at the door was very nice. A good place to go with friends but definitely a great date spot. I'd like to come again and recommend to anyone considering

We had a great time! The food was better than I expected, good portions, good flavor, reasonable price. The Chicken waffle skewers were tasty. Lots of good brews and liquor selection too. The mini golf course made great use of the space, lots of creativity. I wouldn't recommend a large group here, our group of four was perfect not crowding and not taking too long. I would come back

The mini golf experience was worth every penny! It was good fun with a few draw backs. I wish they had a cap for how many people they'd let on the course at a time (sometimes there was a line to start your next hole), and I wish they'd enforce keeping children off the course after 8:00 better (some kids were running through the course and, while I see the appeal for families, I would have enjoyed the promised adult-only time). That said, I will definitely be returning! Especially will be bringing out-of-towners here. Their restaurant though... Disappointing. Maybe they were having an off night. But... Their shrimp and grits was really subpar. The grits were overcooked, the sauce under seasoned. The shrimp were good - but not good enough to save the dish. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken and waffles but I thought they were too awkward to eat. How does one gracefully eat chicken and waffles with syrup on a skewer? But he was very disappointed in the poutine. It barely had gravy - which is the whole point of poutine!! That said, the service was wonderful. Our waitress was kind and answered all of our questions and was very attentive with refills and such! Come for the mini golf and bar, but maybe stick to another Mission neighborhood great for dinner.

This place manages to pack quite a number of courses into it's relatively small interior. But the courses themselves are all quite fun and theres quite a variety to the courses as well. The different mechanisms of the courses kept me interested all the way through out, and it was a blast trying to get the ball into the damn hole while inebriated. I haven't really tried any other indoor golf places before, but I had a blast here. The lines can be a bit long to get in at night though, so just be ready to wait a bit before you can actually start dueling to the death in a game of minigolf with your friends!

A dope bay gem my friend had found on a spontaneous plan to spend the day in the city. Tucked away in a street corner in Mission District, it's definitely one of the cutest mini golf courses I've ever set foot on. As per usual, if you're a bay native you'll know that city parking is bitch but we were lucky enough to parallel park by a sidewalk right on the side of the building and used the parking meter. It was our first time there but everything was simple, you go to the front desk at the door, pay to play ($12 for anyone 13 and up), and get a gold coin to pop into these adorable gum ball like machines where you can choose the golf ball of your choice. We weren't able to try out the food since we grabbed something to eat before hand but it looked like there were plenty of foods to snack on and the bar was pretty lively. Although it's somewhat tight and you'll probably find yourself waiting just a few minutes to move on to the next course, it's worth the time there and experiencing the ingenious courses they have there. From unique themes like day of the dead or a labyrinth inspired course, I found myself constantly engaged and never bored. Even with the bar, it's great for all ages. I saw a lot of families there spending the day with each other. Definitely a fun place to visit and worth the trip!

I've been here three times and FINALLY actually played mini golf! It was a blast. The course is very inventive and all San Francisco themed. We went late on a Friday night but didn't have to wait extremely long. The line moves pretty fast and meanwhile you can grab a drink at the bar! It really is a bummer that you can't bring your drinks on the golf course. I mean, part of me understands that you could spill or people could get too drunk. But the other part of me feels like if I'm at a "mini-golf bar" I want to have my drink while I'm playing mini golf! There are little mini tables next to every hole so I'm assuming you used to be able to bring drinks on the course and somebody ruined it for everyone else. Rude! When you're done with mini-golf you can indulge in some skee-ball or other various arcade games they have. The beer selection is good and the prices are right. It's a great place to bring friends from out of town!

14 hole mini golf with great eats and drinks for groups but I won't find myself playing again. The ace shots+'s: + Fried chicken and waffle skewers are fun to eat + Poutine with duck meat on a bed of good fries + Fun cocktails including fireball shots + Mini golf with 14 holes of SF themed courses that can test your skills and luck + Great group setting + Mac and cheese was pretty good The whiffs -'s: - First come first serve $12 admission to play 14 holes on a Saturday night is madness. No relaxing pace here and a cray wait. We lucked out since we started just before 9 but had to go at a frantic pace since parties were waiting for us to finish. - Some courses were at the mercy of a contraption. The novelty wears off quickly if you play again. - Pork chop entree was way too salty Overall fun concept but not something I'd trek back to do again.

This is the BEST miniature golf course! It's indoors. The holes are all unique. (There is a video game hole! There is a maze race!) The decorations are superb. (Wiggling houses for the earthquake hole! A submarine hole with numerous buttons and switches that made noises!) They have a bar. You get your golf ball from a gumball-esque vending machine. They have lockers so you don't have to lug your jacket / purse around the golf course. You just have to come here and experience it. It is a step above the type of mini golf course you probably have been to in the past. Unfortunately I didn't experience their food or drinks, so this review is based purely on the mini golf course.

Putt putt time in the Mission! I love this mini golf club spot with a bar on the side! Their 14 holes are amazingly creative and entertaining! It was so amusing to watch where the golf ball will go when it went through the tunnel or a long, hidden trail! When the golf ball was in motion, it made sounds too! They definitely put a lot of thought and time into this whole urban putt project and I definitely commend them for it! I have a superb urban and fun time here and you will too! Get your putt putt on!

Love the concept! We didn't eat or drink so I can't comment on that aspect. We did play mini golf (14holes), and for $12 a person I give it a thumbs down. The holes are creative but not challenging. This may be a great spot with a group of friends on a weekend but on a Thursday afternoon it was just ok for the price.

Ah I totally forgot to review this place!! I came here for the Yelp anniversary event a while ago and I had a blast! This place is really unique and tons of fun despite how small it is. The 14 holes are all very different from one another and many of them have some Bay Area inspirations behind them. Some are incredibly innovative in ways that completely change the mini golf game. Some of my favorites: - The Videovision Hole: You hit the ball into this little slot under a screen and it moves the ball on the screen like a video game! Probably my very favorite because I love video games and thought this kind of technology was really cool. - The Labyrinth: Crazy co-op hole where you need to work together with someone to tilt the board and guide the ball through the maze! Kinda difficult and frustrating, but an exciting challenge. - Dia de los Muertos: Very intricate and fun to watch. You get to watch your ball travel through the entire contraption and set off different things. I forget what these kinds of machinery are called, but it's so mesmerizing. I didn't get to try the bar or food here during the event, so I can't comment on those. But the experience was so fun that I would love to come back again with more friends and do so!

A mini golf course right in the mission? Whaaaat? Yeah, it's true. I went to Urban Putt with some friends a few weeks ago, and it was pretty cool. It doesn't cost too much to get a token (which you use to get a golf ball to play) and after that, you're pretty much on your own. Visually, Urban Putt is awesome. Each hole has a different theme (one is Day of the Dead themed, one is actually virtual golf on a screen) and the amount of detail put into the decor is amazing. I really just wanted to take pictures of everything because it was all just SO COOL. * extra points for the SF transamerica building spin on the ubiquitous mini golf course windmill* Now for the negative: the space is really too small for more than one or two groups to play at any given time. Unfortunately, they don't enforce any such rule (or limit the amount of people there at all) so it ends up being a chaotic free for all. If you're claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. It kind of sucks to be stuck behind a group that doesn't follow the par rule and spends like 30 minutes on one hole. We actually ended up doing the course out of order because of this problem. We were constantly in other people's way and they were in ours. Kinda afraid someone is going to get hurt someday because of the crowds/tiny space/swinging golf clubs/flying golf balls combination. Also- the guy at the front desk handing out tokens (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) is REALLY nice and deserves a raise. People were shouting questions at him from all directions and he never lost his cool- he was super polite and competent.

Indoor hipster mini golfing! Definitely a place to check out once in your lifetime. I came in a group of 4 on a Saturday night. I don't recommend coming in a group bigger than that cause it'll take forever! Tip#1: Guests under 21 are not permitted on the mini-golf course after 8 p.m. We waited in line for about half an hour. While waiting, we took turns going to the bar to order some drinks. I forgot the names of the cocktails, but they were both pretty tasty! TIP#2: No alcoholic drinks while mini golfing, so chug chug chug! For $12, you get to go through a total of 14 holes (except hole #13 is out of order). Each one is creative and unique. There's Victorian houses, transamerica building, skeeball, maze, virtual, and more. TIP#3: Since it is indoor, dress lightly, cause it gets warm! It gets pretty packed, so be patient when waiting your turn :) I scored 38, just one point more than my boyfriend who beat all of us, boo!

I took my two girlfriends here for a birthday the other night. The food and service were great. We headed down to play golf after our meal. The line to play was long (20 min wait) so we grabbed a drink at the bar to keep us occupied while waiting. The course is super creative and fun; however, be prepared to spend a good amount of time in line waiting for each hole (drinks on the course would be helping in this situation, but they're not allowed). Some parties take longer than others and don't really follow the rules that are clearly outlined by Urban Putt. It might be helpful to have a staff member roaming the course to help people move things along. Other than that, it's a fun experience!

Two of my friends/fellow Yelpers David W. and Aren A. have mentioned to me on separate occasions this would be a perfect way to "blow off some much needed steam" after graduation. I conveyed these suggestions to the No1DP, who cancelled one of his scheduled surprises for a night of golf. CONCEPT: The end result of a labor of love and a successful Kickstarter campaign for owner Steve Fox, who left his day job to pursue his passion after hosting many charity "bring your own hole" mini-golf parties. The main event is the golf course with the bar and food added in to make a mini-golf business viable in the city. VENUE: Located in a part of the Mission where I wouldn't feel too comfortable walking around at night but safe during the day. SERVICE: A little slow even for a Wednesday evening but our party didn't mind this too much as we weren't in a hurry. DRINKS Cocktails are $11. Subject to change based on seasonality. On our visit the cocktails themselves are hit or miss - while the good ones were good, the bad ones I asked to be sent back because I couldn't finish my glass. - Abuelito (Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum, Ancho Reyes, Lime/Agave, Meringue). The rum version of a pisco sour with none of that weird aftertaste that I usually associate with a pisco sour. It's also a bit spicy due to the Ancho Reyes. - Seasonal Shrub (Bulleit Bourban, Old Overhold Rye, Elderflower, Strawberry Balsamic). I learned that a shrub is only as good as the liquor it is mixed with, had it sent back because it tasted too much like Robitussin. - Bartertown Vida (Calle 23 Tequila, Squirt, Lime, Charred Orange). One of the simpler but goes down smoothly because the Squirt masked much of the tequila. We dunked our charred oranges and it actually made a difference by imparting a smoky mouth feel. - Frozen Irish Coffee (Tullamore, 4 Barrel Ice Cream). Whiskey was used instead of vodka. The ice cream could not mask the whiskey blend and I barely took two sips. My group concurred. - Clever Cardinal (Ketel One, Cherry Soda, Lime). Since Ketel One is a good-quality vodka, it's an appropriate post-golf cocktail. FOOD - Poutine (slow-cooked duck confit, belfiore curd cheese, kennebec fries, gravy), $11. The fries were crispy to perfection yet maintained their crunchiness even with the gravy and duck. The confit was slightly plain but the garlic helped moistened the meat. - Empanadas (masa crust, roasted pumpkin, queso fresco & pasilla pepper filling, with creamy chipotle sauce), $7/2, $10/3. Filling is good for all veggies. When cut up it makes for a good amuse bouche. - Seared Dayboat Scallops (red onion jam, quinoa pancake, mesclun greens). The scallops were pan-fried so that the outside is seared yet the center was still soft. The quinoa was like a starchy cake. - Pizza: Out of Bounds (shiitake and oyster mushrooms, leeks, wild arugula pesto, pine nuts, fresh herb goat cheese, bechamel sauce), $19/9". In the style of a Chicago deep dish this is pesto pasta in a pizza form. The pine nuts were generous, the goat cheese is slightly strong and melts in your mouth and the mushrooms and pesto go well together. Pizza is perfect for sharing, a 9" contains 6 slices. - Strauss soft-serve ice cream: One of the best soft serves I've tried. Never saw a soft serve with the smooth texture of gelato. GOLF - $12/person for 14 holes. The line was non-existent on a Wednesday evening but on a later visit ~9pm Saturday the line extended past the lockers. Once admission is paid you can dispense the token for your golf ball. Select your club based on height. Note that all holes are 7 shots max. Protip: You can't bring your drinks into the course. They're trying to solve this as of this writing as they're mainly concerned with the spills and other messes associated with alcohol consumption. The holes are decorated with Art Deco and steampunk themes scattered with various Bay Area landmarks. Hole 2 (Skeeball): Harder than it looks. Getting the ball to the "50" rewards you with being much closer to the hole. Hole 4 (Videovision): One of my favorite holes because of being a casual video gamer. If you can get timing right in video games then this hole is easy. Hole 6 (Labyrinth): A 2-person contest navigating your ball past a maze. Maze even with the holes isn't too hard to navigate even when you're several drinks in... Holes 8 and 9: The most 'fun' holes to play because of the effort involved in the making of said holes. Hole 12 (Quack!): More like F@**! because of that sliding duck! Kept on blocking my ball, couldn't even make it up the hill. My friends made it in 2-3 shots. This is my top recommendation for a fun, moderately priced outing in the city. It's absolutely perfect for small groups yet this can be suitable for a date night or for two people trying to settle an argument. This is also the only place in the city that does miniature golf as finding enough space and money to house that many holes is a challenge in and of itself.

Golf: A+; Food: B... Really fun and good for groups, but I'm not sure if this place markets itself as A) an upscale-urban eatery with a mini-golf course to boot OR B) a big-kids mini-golf course with fancy food options in case you're in the mood. Because the two are completely different things. If it's the latter, I would come here for the mini golf, but grab a bite at El Farolito (two blocks away!) rather than dining in. The dining lounge food is a little $$ for what it's worth. I came here for a birthday party which was hosted in their upstairs dining room. The room was large and spacious with long tables, and mainly hosted large groups. For drinks, I ordered a Forbidden Fruit (white tequila, persimmon shrub, lime) which was nicely sweet-and-sour. The cocktails are on the pricey side ($11 each) but all seemed to be really appealing concoctions. We mainly stuck with appetizers instead of ordering entrees because nobody in the party wanted/expected to pay $20+ for food that night before golfing. Most of the appetizers are fried so are quite filling on their own. We ordered *fried green olives* that were stuffed with goat cheese and jalepeno. Didn't see any jalapeno in it, but the warm, crispy, bread-crumb coated olive + goat cheese was delicious. Also ordered the *fried chicken thighs* which had an interesting spin because I tasted some sort of lemongrass in the batter. The mini-golfing part was really fun. They have quirky and inventive holes and the long lines went by quickly enough. My favorite was the Virtual Golf portion! TIPS: - The dining lounge area serves Bar Bites as well! We didn't know this and weren't given a bar bites menu either (complained about this to our waitress) because I totally would have ordered the *chicken waffle* skewers from it - You can take your golf ball back home with you? We didn't know that either.... (Update: You can't, someone in our party just made a booboo!)

We were here visiting from out of town and this was a great place to have dinner and then spend time with friends. The food is great ( we had the chicken and waffles, tortilla chicken soup, and Mac and cheese) and it was all pretty good! The best part about this place though is the golf course. It is so well put together and every hole is interesting I loved it. A lot of times mini golf is disappointing, so I had low expectations but this course was awesome! I can see how it would get crowded quickly but we had a great time!

This place has a good combination of bar, golf and food! At first i was disappointed coz there was no outside space for playing golf. But they made the different holes so fun that it took time to figure out where were the holes and what were the best strategies. There were altogether 16 holes ( if i remember right). Some were really creepy! Their food was awesome! I had my first deep pizza here and it tasted so good! It was full of meat and the crust was crispy! I also had the chicken and waffle skewer!

Let's count it down: 10. The service in the restaurant is outstanding--and no, I am not over-exaggerating. Who would think that you would get such excellent service at a restaurant specializing in mini-golf? The restaurant is upstairs, and we had a reservation (made on Open Table) for my friend's birthday. Our server explained everything in full detail, was able to recommend food and beer, and was just about as nice as they make 'em. Major props for off the charts service. 9. Chicken and Waffles on a skewer. This doesn't really require explanation in further detail. 8. Deviled eggs? Not too shabby for Sunny S. But the fried olives stuffed with goat cheese? UM, YES PLEASE. MORE OF THAT. 7. The beer list downstairs: varied, fun and informed. I had the Anderson Valley Gose (x2), and it (they) was (were) GREAT. 6. Convenient location in the Mission between 22nd and 23rd on Van Ness. Easily accessible from BART and Muni. 5. Mini-golf for adults? OH YES, I'M IN. 4. But you can't reserve golfing slots? Oh man, what gives (punctuation intended). Considering that you have to reserve times for bowling in SF, I think it's only fair to allow to reserve for mini-golf as well. The two are very similar: neither are real sports. 3. Upstairs beer list? Errrrr--not so much. It could take a cue from the downstairs beer list. Pretty restricted. 2. Rocking out to the Pixies at the downstairs bar is always cause for celebration. A big, big love. ~AND~ 1. No drinks on the green?!?! SAY WHAT???? Booze is to golf as water is to life. YOU NEED IT. Otherwise, good times.

The idea of an indoor miniature golf place in the middle of San Francisco is both awesome and insane. In fact, it's insanely awesome! You enter, use your chip to get a golf ball from a gumball machine, select a putter that's perfect for your height, and walk into a large indoor arena with 12 or so uniquely SF-themed holes. The band hole where the balls play the drums as they drop down was definitely my favorite. In addition to the miniature golf, there's a side room with with a skeeball and arcade basketball machine and down the hall, they have a Whack-a-Mole game. Besides the games, they have a full bar area and serve hot food AND they have a great fro-yo machine that dispenses Strauss frozen yogurt. The food is like fancified bar fare. In short, exactly what you'd expect from a SF joint. The chicken and waffle skewers are delicious but tiny. I could easily eat 10 of them. The pizzas are sort of mediocre and heavy on the crust. I mean, I understand these are deep dish pizzas but wow, they are seriously deep dish. The salads are salady and while I ignored them, others told me they were great (meaning they were heavy on the goat cheese and fruit, which seem to be the hallmarks of great salad these days). I was here on a weekday so I didn't experience the crowds the other reviewers mention, but with all the sets and people wielding putters, I can imagine it gets pretty cramped on regular days. In short, it's a great venue for a team building event or a fun outing in the city.

This is the cutest indoor mini-mini-golf bar I've ever seen! Well... it's probably the only mini-golf bar I've ever seen which makes me wonder why the heck I nor anyone else has ever thought of such an amazing idea for SF?! I've been wanting to check it out for some time now, but the long line out the door is always so daunting. On my most recent trip home I made a mission to check it out with some friends, we went around 4pm and the wait was not bad at all. To play it's $8/kids & $12/adults, 21+ only after 8pm. You get your ball and club and get in line. You can grab drinks, bar snacks, and play carnival games while you wait in line to get on the course, what an awesome way to pass the time. They have a solid list of taps and the bar food is pretty good too! I got the Ommegang Harvest Ale and an order of Fried Chicken and Maple Waffle Skewers - both were so delicious. The engineering and design of the course is so intricate and creative. Every inch of the place is so strategically put together to create an adorable 14-hole SF themed golf course. It's super affordable and really fun for a date night or night out with friends.

Urban Putt is so freaking cute. There is a mini golf course, downstairs bar, and upstairs restaurant, all in the same building. My friend and I were a little confused about the way it worked because the chick at the front desk just stared at us and did not explain anything. I suppose she was watching us absorb the awesomeness of the whole place. Anyways, you can rent putters and golf balls at the front desk then head onto the course. You can also walk around if you just want to check it out. I can imagine the wait being long for such a cramped course, but it seemed like fun. My friend and I headed upstairs to the restaurant for a bite to eat... and beer, of course. The downstairs food and beverage menus are different from the ones upstairs. Not sure why that is. We ordered the Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Pork Belly & Apples ($7) and Poutine with Duck Confit, Curd Cheese, Kennebec Fries, and Gravy ($11). The poutine was surprisingly flavorless but the brussel sprouts were amazing and I would recommend those. The bartenders and wait staff are a friendly bunch. This is an awesome date place. There is so much to do, from enjoying a beer at the bar to playing on one of the pinball machines in the back room... oh and mini golf. I will definitely be back to play a round or two!

Pretty awesome just really busy! Their food and their drinks are pretty freaking tasty, their golf experience is one to write home about, and the livelihood of the venue makes this a great spot for an after-dinner adventure! They have adult only sessions after 8:00pm which decreases the noise of screaming children and makes your experience so much more appealing! It's all indoor so it is weather friendly, the holes are quite interactive and they sometimes move/go all around the venue. Overall I totally see myself coming back and bringing visiting friends from out of town! It's pretty pricey but it is San Francisco.

I came here for food and putt putt but ended up not having time for putt putt since the food was so good we kept ordering more. We stuck with appetizers and sides to share with the group. The biscuit with jalapeño butter was amazing as was the nectarine and goat cheese toast. I didn't drink anything but my friends enjoyed the spicy drink la bandida. I definitely want to go back to try the putt putt!

What time is it? It's putt putt time! I found myself at Urban Putt for a Yelp Anniversary event and was slightly hesitant as I am pathetically horrible at mini golf. All of the other events were full and I was wait listed so I opted to check Urban Putt out. Best decision ever! As soon as I walked in the doors, I was in awe. Urban Putt may have a mini golf course but it is more art than anything else. Rather than the generic obstacles that are weather worn, the immaculate pieces will remain untouched by the SF winds as it is...indoors! Sweet! Each one of the holes were much more engaging and each had a different theme that deviated from your standard mini golf. Are you good at video games and love Mario Kart? Hole 4 is for you. Enjoy a game of skeeball? Hole 2 is calling your name. Enjoy the intricacies of a Rube Goldberg machine and a fan of Dia De Los Muertos? Boy are you going to love hole 9. Are you a fan of Survivor and thought that castaways were total mouth-breathers for failing at the labyrinth table challenges? You can test your skill at hole 6 and then ring up Probst to boast. For those purists out there, have no fear- there are still quite a couple holes that will bring up nostalgic memories of your youth. My husband and I had the best time at Urban Putt and it was hands down the highlight of our trip. It was an absolute blast and we loved how creative the design of the course was and the different ways that it challenged us. I was thoroughly shocked that I finally broke my losing streak at mini golf. Dare I say that I was actually quite good at it? Oh, yes I do. The only hole that I had quite the epic fail was one of the classics- number 7 aka the Glow in the Dark. As it was a private party, the restaurant was closed but I was definitely hankering for some of their food after looking at the Yelp photos. There is a small arcade but we were having too much fun at mini golf that we didn't check it out. If you are in the Bay and looking for something fun to do I would highly recommend Urban Putt. We had a fantastic time and we will definitely be back on our next trip to SF.

What a fun place! We are constantly looking for something to do with the kiddo on the weekend and Urban Putt was quite a fun experience. Such a cool concept and super organized. Each hole was cool and innovative. Obviously space is a bit cramped so if it gets a little busy you may end up in a crowded area waiting for your turn. You have been forewarned but seriously it's worth it, it's a good time. We didn't try any of the food or libation but it is definitely on the to-try next time. We will definitely time it better next time to go golf right before the restaurant opens so that we can try it after golfing next time. All in all a fun place! Would also love to try with a group of our friends at night minus the child.

Went here for a team outing and it we all had a great time. Each hole was unique, very creatively created and time between each hole wasn't too bad. Granted we went moment the place had opened, it started to get slow when kids were allowed to play. (I thought you had to be 21?) The service here in the other hand wasn't so good. The bar tenders were slow to get any drink done. The hostess/front desk lady was very passive aggressive to our group and telling us they we were too loud. (God forbid we cheer when someone gets a 100 in the skeeball) Also we were not aware they had food there, so we brought in our own and it was empty but pretty much rudely told us we can't bring in outside food since they have their own upstairs. So we can't eat while hanging out by the drinks, no menus to alert us about food and the place was somewhat empty. Just come to play golf but don't plan to stay here long otherwise. And remember don't cheer if your friend gets a hole in one since they don't like that either.

I was on a Tinder date. His choice, my surprise and he totally let me win. I loved it. Carefully thought-out holes, not super time consuming (note: in case you are also on a Tinder date and need to get the f' outta there). The ambiance is great and the holes are really creative. The beer was good. We ate at the resturant upstairs...FANTASTIC deep dish pizza. All in all a most pleasurable evening and mad props to him for taking me there.

Fun fun fun. Lot's of it. Beer, food AND mini golf all in one place! And on top of that this isn't any old ring dig putt putt course. The amount of time they put into each hole and how intricate they all are is insane! Would be nice if you could take your drinks on the course though. Oh...and my girlfriend wanted everyone to know that she beat me and got 3 hole in ones.

After reading the reviews on how packed it gets on the weekends, I made sure to make reservations for my boyfriend and I on a Thursday night (hoping that the place wasn't too packed that night). We had reservations at the restaurant at 6:30pm, but managed to go through the golf course, grab a drink and some snacks, and played some skee-ball all before 5:30pm. We decided to go upstairs to see if we could get seated a little early. We waited for awhile to get seated but there was no one at the hostess stand. The guy who eventually came up to us didn't seem to care. When we asked if we could get seated a little early, his response was "sure, I GUESS you can do that..." and quickly grabbed the menus to sit us in the way corner. Our waitress was nice and she told us the specials for the day for the brief moment we got to see her. Aside from taking our orders, we didn't see our waiter until we waved her down for some water and the check. We ordered Poutine to start, Shrimp and Grits, and Pork Chop. The Poutine could have used a little more gravy, but it still tasted pretty delicious. The fries were so crispy! The Shrimp and Grits were average, as well as the Pork Chop. Entrees didn't have much taste even though the presentation of the plate looked delicious. Especially for how much the food cost, I expected the food to be much better. The golf course was amazing and I really enjoyed the small spaced they utilize for each course. Each hole was different and unique! I really enjoyed the creativity in each course and some were definitely harder than others. The overall golf course was pretty quick, but my boyfriend and I definitely had a really good time! They also have skee-ball - my favorite!! I loved that this skee-ball machine accepted credit cards, which make it much easier for me to purchase more games than I probably should have played...eeek! I would suggest to try out the golf course, grab some drinks and snacks, but opt out on the restaurant. With their very lackluster food and service at the restaurant upstairs, I would take the time to enjoy the golf course and the variety of drinks they offer downstairs instead.

Surpassed my expectations! Who knew a mixture of a restaurant, bar, and miniature 14 golf course would feel so normal?! Urban Putt is creative, fun, and genius. I'd definitely visit again. The courses do go by quick so if you are 21+ grab a drink & something eat. Your visit would be 2x delightful :) Summer Crush is their most popular cocktail. For Draft beers, Greenflash & Kolsh were a non-regretting purchase!

This is a cool concept. Indoor golfing in one side and drinking in the other. The two cannot intersect though since they dont allow alchs in the golf area. It is $12 a person but I guess you also pay for the experience. This place is totally hipster I cant even. I guess that is what you expect around this hood haha. There are 14 holes and each is pretty interesting. My favorites have got to be the digital one and the arcade like maze. So fun haha. This is definitely a cute date idea. I swear I was looking around and thought...oh that one is definitely a tinder date...that one is a CMB....oh that is another CMB hahaha. You can go through all holes fairly quickly in an hour. It is cool to see how each one is built and functions. After everything, you can hop on over to the bar and drank it up if you like. Fun cool experience brought to you by good ol San Fran

Came here with a small group (4 in all) on a Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty quiet and there were a lot of kids running around. Overall, we had a good time but here is the general breakdown, starting with the bad news: Cons: - The Sunday afternoon bartender is the surliest, most unpleasant bartender I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. She could not have made it clearer to us that she hated us, her job, and her life. As one of my friends (who is also a bartender) said, "Your job is to pour liquid in cups and make people feel welcome." Fail on both counts. - Food service downstairs was also terrible. We ordered from our snarly bartender and the food took at least 20 minutes to come out. The guy who brought it seemed nice enough and said he'd return with napkins. Said napkins never appeared and he managed to vanish as well. - The course is admittedly pretty small and if you have people waiting it can get cramped and chaotic very quickly. - Hole 4 is miserable. Just skip it. Pros: + Once it finally arrived, the food was actually quite tasty. Corn dogs, pretzel knots, and guacamole with plantain chips were happily devoured. + Drinks are reasonable in price, size, and strength. + When emptier, the golf course is a lot of fun. We were also about 3 drinks deep each by the time we started, so that may have contributed. The holes are creative, have fun themes, and are the perfect amount of challenging when inebriated (except Hole 4. Screw you). I think this would be a fun date place on a quieter night or afternoon, but wouldn't recommend going with more than 4 people. Don't expect great service and maybe just pre-game before you hit the golf course. Overall, it's a nice place for families and tipsy adults.

This place is super cute and definitely worth a visit. I booked their upstairs loft area for a party of approximately 18 people. We loved it and had a great time. I booked it around 6 pm and the place was getting extremely busy. It was a Saturday evening after all. I should have done more research and booked it earlier in the day because we were here to celebrate my 4 year old's birthday. In the evenings, the scene is more for adults and a lot less kid friendly. Their mini golf course is cute but when it's crowded, it can be a bit overwhelming. You're running into other people and it's not as fun because there's just not enough space. The food is really good! I do have a few gripes about my visit. The lady working the front desk downstairs was extremely mean! I had my sons stroller and he was throwing a fit when I was getting ready to set him down and fold up the stroller. While all of this was happening, this mean lady starts yelling that I can't keep the stroller in front of the door which I KNEW because I was in the process of putting the stroller away. If she's not happy with her job, she should go somewhere else. I've worked in customer service many many years ago and I know not to be a plain bitch to people. Also, while I was waiting to get in, one of of the UP workers was smoking directly in front of the door. There's a CA law that you have to stand at least 25 feet away from a business door and he didn't think it applied to him. I had younger kids with me so this really bothered me but I didn't say a damn thing because I had too much going on. Besides all that, everything else was great. Oh and remember to give yourself at least an extra 10 to 15 minutes for parking. have fun!

I never imagined we would find a miniature golf course in the Mission. For $12, you get to try your hand at 14 holes of bring me back to the good old fashioned days of a miniature club and ball(with some modern twists and a surprising amount of creative course construction). The wait on a mid-day Sunday afternoon was brisk and everywhere I looked I could see smiles and hear laughter abound at any given hole. There is a bar that serves small dishes as well. They had a nice sour beer and the sweet potato fries and warm pretzels were quite tasty and exceeded my expectations(all relative to the food you would find at your typical outdoor miniature golf course I suppose). As the course stands now, I can imagine jumping at the chance to go back once(maybe twice more); However for the sake of Urban Putt's longevity, I hope they have been already planning new twists and changes to the course to keep its patrons challenged and most importantly, grinning like a 12 year old as they exit the doors.

Finally got around to trying out Urban Putt, we came here for a friend's birthday. We got a big table upstairs for dinner, the food was good, not great. Our waitress was SO great, she was super accommodating and dealt with our big boisterous group like a champ! Food wise it was good, the friend chicken and waffle skewers were delicious, but everything else was just decent. After dinner we went downstairs to play mini golf, the course was SO much smaller than I had anticipated. It's all kind of crammed into this one room, it was a Saturday night so it was obviously crowded, it was kind of awkward shuffling through the nine holes. It's basically like one big cluster. Each hole is designed to be something different and is cool but it's just too cramped in there.

Super cute! Never heard of indoor mini-golf before so I surprised my boyfriend by bringing him here for his birthday because he LOVES mini-golfing and he absolutely loved this place! And for a person like me, who really doesn't like mini-golf or golfing in general, it was still surprisingly enjoyable. Super small, can get crowded but these courses run pretty fast. They are incredibly well designed so that they are challenging without being frustratingly hard and time consuming, making it fun for a mini-golf hater like myself. Each course is also like a work of art- not cheaply designed, definitely a lot of time, thought, creativity and effort put into each one. Something both kids and adults can enjoy and be amazed by. Kind of wish there was more but by the end of it, I was pretty satisfied. As a night owl, I absolutely LOVE how this place is opened late, how there are no kids allowed past 8pm (I'm such a granny) and I LOVE how close it was to the BART station. Perfect place to go after drinks, or even TO drink, with friends or your significant other!

Went here recently for an outing with some fellow interns and had a great time! I've played on a lot of different mini-golf courses, but this was easily the most creative one I've seen till date. As a matter of fact, there are even some holes where you don't use your putter at all! I didn't try any of the food or drinks, but according to some of the other reviews, it's apparently very good. STRONGLY recommended. :)

Delicious creative foods, decent priced beer, and most importantly super interesting and creative putt putt holes! ($12 per ball) I didn't know exactly what to expect but I was pleased and had a great date night. After 8 pm it's 21+. Yes it is hipsterdome at its prime, but when you see how fun and interesting it is and how much effort/care wasput into crafting this place, you really won't mind. Note: on a Friday night, make a reservation for a dinner table. We went at 7:45 and there was a 45 min wait list. Also, don't try to play after 9:30. We started at about 8:45 and didn't really have to wait long behind the people in front of us but walking out at 10, there was a line at least 20 parties deep of people waiting to start.

Miniature golfing may be for kids, but this place is as adult as you can get playing this innocent sport. Eileen L.'s REFVIEW (the f is silent) for Urban Putt: RELEVANT INFO * In Mission District = hipster central * $12 gives you 1 token to exchange for your golf ball of choice in the gumball machines around the corner * No booze allowed on the course... yet -- according to the sign, the establishment is waiting on the city to grant them a special permit, so that, at present, translates to: shotgunning beers and pounding shots AFAP in between obstacles to return to your game in a timely manner * I'm assuming this place is always crowded, so expect to stand in many lines * The entire course is constructed in a small-ish warehouse -- claustrophobia alert! * I think there's stuff upstairs, but I didn't check * The bartenders here are fantastic! EXPECTATIONS COMING IN * I was told beforehand that I was going to a mini golfing bar, so my immediate thought was of a traditional outdoor course (like at Boomers), but with plenty of bars along the course FOOD * Irrelevant * Booze booze booze VALUE * $12/person for a 14-hole game * Shots ($6-$8) depending on how premium your liquor choice -- and the bartenders pour freehand generously, so each shot is really double shots * Beers ($3-$10) -- A chalkboard full of great craft choices (20+); $3 for PBR... no establishment in SF is complete without tall cans of PBR IMPRESSION * Amazing use of tight space with each hole -- not to mention, the concept for each hole was so unique, well-designed, and executed to perfection * The bartenders (didn't catch their names, but the Krysten Ritter look-alike and the burly lumberjack chap) were super awesome and made us shots that taste like Christmas! * It only takes one doucher SF local making flagrant remarks to kill your buzz :/ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE * Family-friendly, but also good for groups of young adults to pound Cirrhosis-inducing beverages while killing time on a Saturday afternoon WOW FACTOR * THE HOLES!!!! Favorites: #2 (Skee-Ball) and #4 (Videovision) ...#10 (Archimedes Goldberg) was pretty sweet too :)

The bar snacks were phenomenal - we tried the chicken and waffle skewers (a must), the pretzel twists (fine), and the spinach and arugala salad which was very nice. My neat whiskey had a healthy pour and the mixed drinks were bright and flavorful. And the golfing is fun and creatively designed. My only comment would be that the 2 times I've been here, one or another of the holes has been out of service. Other than that, it's a blast.

I love miniature golf but have been so bummed that most of the Bay Area has gotten rid of them. Luckily Urban Putt is here to save the day even though it's only inside. I went with my whole family and my brother was skeptical but at the end said he had a great time. The course is only 14 holes but they're great imaginative holes that represent San Francisco well. It was my son's first time ever playing golf and he loved it. I'd definitely come back even though it is on the pricey side. Next time I'm getting a beer though.

This place is SO CUTE! I've never played putt putt at a place like this. We came on a saturday night with a group of 6 and had a blast! The holes are creative and some are actually pretty hard despite the small size of the course. There's a bar downstairs, with tasty drinks (which you cannot bring onto the course) and supposedly food upstairs but we didn't eat there. I personally prefer the longer, bigger putt putt courses, but this is a weather-appropriate, mini Disneyland-esque, unique alternative that's very fun with a date or larger group. They also have Doblets here! (google it ;)) Phone death crisis averted!

I used to think ehh mini golf is for kids, its boring! But after coming here boyyy!! I had so much fun! $12 is pretty worth it and I recommend all of you to bring your friends! They have bars so get drunk before you go in, too bad I didn't lol I will def come back and I won't be sober this time muahahaha

My friend had a birthday here around the late afternoon. Here are some notes from my experience: (+) Pluses + Enjoyed their selection of beers at the bar. I really liked the Coastal Kolsh + Cool cultural and SF inspired themes for the golf course + You can bring children (-) Minuses - Gets crowded on the golf course, esp. when kids are numerous - Long wait for dining area up top (Ended up going to another place to eat) *Notes & Suggestions * I believe that they have specific times with adults only, if you have a preference to avoid kids. Overall, a nice concept for an outing especially if you're into the mini golf and booze mash up. It really brings me back to when I was a little kid, when "Karts N' Golf" existed...minus the alcohol...haha.

You've never played mini-golf like this before. Urban Putt must've been so much fun to design. Each and every hole is so unique and plays perfectly to the tiny, indoor space it occupies. They've thought of everything to make your mini golf experience the most enjoyable. While waiting in line to start the course, use your ball and play the interactive game with the sleepwalking animation. Once you start playing the holes, it'll go by so quickly. Without giving away too much, it's great to see how creative they are when defining a hole. Every plot has a start and a finish you need to get to, but not all of them involve the club, and some are even in virtual reality! You'll also be spending half the time on the course being entertained by your ball's journey. The number of contraptions is unparalleled to any other course I've come across. You can also order food on the course, and it's surprisingly good. Our favorites were the fried green olives (stuffed with goat cheese!) and the chicken and waffle skewers (large portion for the price and fried to perfection). Whether you're there for an intimate date or large group gathering, Urban Putt has got you covered!

Why is this place 4 stars?!! I'm sadly disappointed. After discovering this place months ago, I had the opportunity to come here with friends to hang out and play a round of miniature golf. Yay! Not. Of course, I love the bar area. Who wouldn't? And the food was sub par. However, I don't know what to say about the course itself except that it was horrible. Worst experience ever. My friends and I came around the time there was a birthday event. Which totally held up the line. Also, two of the stupid courses was out of order. Wtf?! Fix that crap! Lastly, the course that had the monitor "as-if you were on a golf course" and you had to keep hitting the ball, ummm yeah....that held up the line. A long line of disgruntled customers behind me and in front of me. Can you get rid of that please?! I love the concept but it was an outcry. Very little space between walking around people and trampling on the courses. Also, the heat in this small house with a lot of people...it was severely hot in there. Not enough ventilation. Is it worthwhile to come here and hang out? No. Skip it. $12?!! Geez. I can buy two cheap beers with that at a bar. I want a refund since I didn't get to play the whole thing.

This place is really cute and a lot of fun. The inside golf course was really creative! Nice place to take a small (no more then 6 people) to hang out. Its a small place you can easily knock a drink out of someone's hand. The drinks are good. I had the sweet tea whiskey!! Delicious! But the drinks are a little pricey. Food is good..but nothing special...the chicken and waffle bites were yummy! Overall I would come again. Just with a smaller group! We were 13 people

This is such a cute place for a first date! Indoor mini golf, beer, bar food, and a few arcade games, and all for a reasonable price. Mini golf is $12 for adults and $8 for children. I came around 3 in the afternoon with three of my friends and it wasn't too crowded. There was no wait for mini golf but there was still "traffic" as in waiting around for our turn at the different holes. All of the stations were really cute and different in their own ways, some even have cool contraptions that redirect your golf ball, and there was even an electronic/virtual golf hole that was pretty cool. We also had a few drinks and bar bites. My friend ordered two beers (for a credit card tab you have to order a minimum of two drinks), and we also got a grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffle skewers, and French fries. The French fries were ordinary (should've gotten the sweet potato), the chicken n waffle skewers were bomb, and the grilled cheese was good but the soup was really salty. Over all we had a good time and it was a fun experience. Such a cute idea.

Urban Putt is an awesome place to go for some mini golf in the city. There are 14 holes and each one is really well made and you can tell they put lots of thought/creativity into each one. I came here on New Year's Day, just as they were opening for the day. My friends and I had tons of fun. They do serve food/drinks here, but we did not have a chance to try it out. You can bring food out to where you are golfing, but you cannot bring your drinks, for obvious reasons. I will definitely be back to bring my friends/family who have not been here yet. Try to come earlier in the day since it gets crowded and you probably do not want to get stuck behind a big group.

So I heard this place gets pretty busy on weekends so I decided to go on a weekday! Good choice. We took Bart and got off at 24 street station and walked a few short blocks to urban putt. Upon arrival you pay a $12 fee for golfing which gives you a token and yoo place it into the machine to get a golf ball color of your choice. There are 14 holes on the course and a restaurant upstairs and a full bar downstairs. You can't bring drinks onto the course but it doesn't seem like a big deal..I got the iceberg drink which was different, interesting and refreshing. I can't describe how it tastes other than that so I guess you'll have to try it to see for yourself!

Pretty neat place for a social hang out. Friendly bar with a variety of cool drinks - some in mason jars for a cute little touch and some finger foods and small plates to die for. The chicken and waffle skewers are worth it! Soft waffles meets crispy, juicy chicken tenderloin pieces all hugged lightly with maple syrup. Match made in heaven, really. $12 buys a round of golf and there are 14 holes to play. Challenges vary. There are traditional ones of windmills and hills, but there are also some that trigger cool rune goldberg effects. Definitely keep your eyes on those. Others really require a little strategy. Too hard and you either literally go off course or you'll continually miss the optimal spot. Too soon or too late and you'll waste all your strokes, like with the digital course or with the duck targets. -1 star because the second floor takes forever and a day to serve up food. A couple of my friends were famished and their little slice of $4 pizza took over half an hour to appear. Food also stops being served at 10:30 despite Urban Putt not closing until midnight on the day we went. That would've helped to know beforehand. Tipsy & drunk golf is fun until you have nothing to soak it up with....then it's all bad - not from personal experience, of course.

This was a funniversary thing to do. Although it was packed with kids and the course was short, I liked the experience. I would recommend this place especially for parties and when less crowded. Did not try any of the food though.

Super fun and creative indoor miniature golf. It's 14 holes long and I like the Bay Area references with the Transamerica building "windwill" and the Dio de los muertos hole. There's also a bar that was packed with hipsters of all flavors. Only thing is that you can't take your drinks on the course, hipster or not. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/urba… ) A premium beer was about $6 and they had the good stuff like pbr for $3. Otherwise, a small but cool selection of craft beer on tap. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/urba… ) I'd say go on a Thursday since they also have a farmer's market around the corner to complete the local experience. Perfect for a guys night out or a fun date night. Lotta fun for all skill levels and ages. Definitely coming back with the wifey.

Ohhhh Urban Putt. Such a fan. The ONLY thing missing is the liquor license for the course. When that happens, its a five star place for sure. In some of the other reviews, I've noticed people are judging it based on how busy it seems to be. It is true, if you wait until after 8pm, it's going to be busy and you will have to wait in line. So prepare a little, and arrive earlier. We arrived around 7:30 and there was no line. However, I kind of wished there were a few people in line, because at least you can have a drink then! The course is great. Very unique, and the holes are all pretty fun. I found that some were a little toooo difficult, and so the LARGE group in front of us (obviously rule-breakers as the sign says groups of four or less) took quite a while on a few holes. But overall, it's really fun and interesting to just look at, so taking your time was kind of better. I will definitely be back. I think that it's a fun cheap date (there aren't many entertainment dates in the city for only $11 a person!).

Urban Putt provides a very unique experience. Combining a restaurant, bar and a mini golf course into one venue in the heart of SF makes this a great destination for a night of dining and fun. Showing up at 6:30 on a wednesday evening, the downstairs mini golf and bar area was already packed and bustling. We proceeded upstairs to the dining area which was already half full with a crowd there for after work happy hour drinks. Fortunately we had reservations and were seated quickly. Looking over the menu, the starters and sides appealed to us far more than any of the entrees. This seems fitting considering the atmosphere and fun focus of this place. We ordered the following: Roasted Brussel Sprouts with pork belly and apples - 1/5 - This plate sounds better than it is. The final product is not greater than the sum of its parts. In hindsight we both wished we had skipped on this. Butternut squash potato gratin - 3/5 - Creamy and unique, this dish was interesting and worth ordering. Au gratin is almost always a winning dish though so it's hard to go wrong with it. Empanadas - 2/5 - These were decent, especially because of the pumpkin and pepper, but overall it did not quite deliver what I was hoping for. There are better empanadas out there. Fried Chicken & Waffle Skewers - 5/5 - While simple, this was was well executed. The chicken was perfectly moist and fried and combined with the maple glaze and soft waffles this was delicious. Duck Confit Poutine - 5/5 - This was such a great dish. The flavor of the duck confit came out nicely and was balanced well with the gravy and curds. The fries were very crispy as well. My only complaint is that there were just too many fries for the amount of the rest of the ingredients, which were already quite generous. So far, this is one of the top three poutine dishes I've had in SF. Following dinner we went downstairs and had a lot of fun on the very unique and cleverly designed mini golf course. It is quite impressive that they fit in 14 courses in such a small space without making it feel overly cramped. I especially liked the labyrinth and video courses. Overall, for mini golf with an added bonus of delicious food and the option for drinks, there is no competition anywhere nearby. This is "as good as it gets."

We came with a party of 6 for first dinner and mini golf afterwards. We had a reservation that would have surprisingly not been necessary. The food was good. Deep dish pizza was yummy, for the rest of my family not great but we all liked it. Drinks are cheap and appetizers and starters good to share, probably a better choice than the pizza. The American itself was really fun! The little different stops were really cute and since it wasn't that packed on Memorial Day we barely had to wait. Will definitely come back, probably for game and drinks only though

Zero experience with the food. Excellent game of mini golf. I went with a mini golf cheater, so it's hard to say if the course is legit, but it is certainly fun and the line and people move, so you're not waiting too long for the next hole.

    ## Indoor mini-golfing: 4-5 out of 5 stars (What the rating means: "Yay, I'm a fan" to "As good as it gets!"...although honestly this is the only option for indoor mini-golfing in the city, so it can't be hard to be the best.) We were here on a Weds night at 6pm, and it was pretty crowded. Lots of kids around (but also this could be because of summer break). The kids did empty out later into the night, but it still stayed crowded with the adult crowd. Despite all the people, we probably waited only about 15-20 minutes to get onto the golf course. I would anticipate at least 1.5 hours to golf all the holes. They somehow managed to fit 14 courses into a very tiny space. Each course was pretty neat. Some of these were intricately-designed mechanical works of art. I thought the $12 golfing price was fair, given the interesting course, and of course, the location. -------------------------------------- ## Restaurant: 2 out of 5 stars (What the rating means: "Meh, I've experienced better") The service was good. They were accommodating for our group of 10 people. (I had actually made a reservation for 8 people online, but was able to call and change it to 10 people.) The menu itself feels a little schizophrenic. There are things ranging from jambalaya, to deep dish pizza, to empanadas, to poke, to Indian dessert. There wasn't a clear theme, which was ok, but we just didn't find the food to be that tasty. Seared tuna wrapped in smoked salmon - really good. The avocado-mango salad was very refreshing and it had a nice citrus dressing with it. Poutine - not that good at all. It left me wanting more. More gravy, more curds of cheese, more saltiness/flavor. The fries were not consistent (some of them really kinda mushy, some where more crispy). There was duck confit on this in shreds, but I didn't really taste the gaminess of the duck that much. They probably could have substituted pulled pork (since that's what it looked like anyway), and I wouldn't have even noticed. Fried chicken thighs - these were ok. The chicken itself was moist and tender. The fried batter was nicely crispy, but it just wasn't flavored enough. Not enough again! Deep dish pizza - we ordered "The Links" (chicken merguez & fennel pork sausages). It wasn't truly a deep dish pizza. Don't expect this to be of the same quality as Little Star or Paxti. The crust was good. It was probably a corn meal dough that was nicely crispy and not too buttery. The overall pizza was just ok. In general, I'd skip out on the food, and just come here for mini-golfing.

This is definitely a cute indoor mini golf place. I came here with my best friend a few months ago because we heard about it online. We got there right when it opened and there was a little bit of a line. After buying our token for the golf ball, we were asked to wait off to the side until a few groups putted first. There's a bar area which is a great way to pass time, but my best friend isn't 21.. lol irrelevant. Anyway we finally got around to mini golf and it was fun. Some of the holes were broken so that was a bummer but the ones that were working were cute and creative. Overall this is a really cute place to take someone for a date. Who doesn't love mini golf? It's also nice because it's indoors so you're not freezing your ass off waiting for the people in front of you to golf.

We had tried coming on a Saturday night, and the line was so long to get on the course that they'd closed the register so you couldn't even pay to get your balls and clubs for 30 mins. Even after we got drinks (and soft serve!) the line didn't die down much we we cut our losses and peaced. Came back on a Wed night, 8pm. Much better. Short line. The holes were super cute and SF-themed. They were all very different and creative. Take your time, because the people in front of you are probably taking their time too/really bad at minigolf. You also want to take the time to notice the details in all the holes; they really put some thought into it! My favorite part was actually the nightwalker installation on the side of the putt putt area. Make sure you check that out! Probably a great place for first dates, we speculated. There were definitely some tinder dates hitting this place up. Good job, guys. Kinda annoying you can't bring the drinks onto the course but you're already in danger of getting hit by stray balls and clubs, so probably a good rule of thumb. P.S. Strong frozen irish coffee in NYC coffee cups. Do it.

The mini golf course downstairs is really cute. Lots of SF landmarks and creative design. I'm amazed they can fit so much in such a small indoor space. The food upstairs is fine but not super impressive; I wouldn't come here again just for the food but maybe to try the golfing. Just be aware: no drinks allowed in the golfing area. If you have a big group it can take a few hours to get through 14 holes; a wait can build up at each hole. THE SERVICE: Our server had one of those personalities that you're really drawn to when he talks; you feel like he's genuinely interested in being around you and talking to you. But when he wasn't focused on our table (and he was really great at checking back a couple times when we hadn't made up our minds on food/drinks), it was really, really hard to get a hold of him. At one point I practically yelled across the restaurant at him and luckily another server (or the owner?) saw and came by. THE COST: $23 total per person for 3 dinner entrees. Not bad, but thinking back to the quality of the food, I don't think this was really worth it. * The Caddyshack Deep Dish (applewood smoked bacon, jalapeno, asparagus, grape tomatoes, ricotta/mozzarella/tomato sauce. $19 for the 9") - 3 stars pic: yelp.com/biz_photos/urba… Not as impressive as it sounds. This was fine but just wouldn't make any of our lists of memorable pizzas. We all noted how Little Star really has the best deep dish (and I'm a Chicago native!). I'm not sure what it was - nothing wow'ed us, the cheese was rather plain and thick/congealed on top, the crust wasn't a standout by any means. It did its job of feeding us, that's all I can say. * Jambalaya (free range chicken, crayfish tails, andouille sausage, spicy tomato/pepper sauce, scallion rice, lemon. $21) - 4 stars pic: yelp.com/biz_photos/urba… The meats in this were really good! That chicken was very moist, and the sausage was tasty. This also was very legitimately spicy. We were all impressed. * Pig & Pork (coleman ranch tenderloin, slow-cooked belly, white corn grits, grilled veggie chow-chow, spicy mustard jus. $20) - 3.5 stars pic: yelp.com/biz_photos/urba… This was our server's top recommendation, and it really didn't live up. The tenderloin was a bit dry, as was the pork belly. The Veggie chow-chow was like a mix of all the cheapest veggies, thrown together and overcooked without much flavor. The white corn grits were really surprising (we loved how grainy it was), and tasted great with the jus (by itself the flavor was plain). One night many, many years ago, I swore off mini golf. It was not one of my finest moments, but I was so serious in my vow that I managed to avoid mini golf for a solid 15 years. Then came Urban Putt. Lemme put it this way: when everyone else in a group of 25 30-somethings becomes giddy with glee at the thought of a place where you can mini golf, drink AND eat, you go with the flow. Being the flow-goer that I am, I didn't mention to anyone of those 24 other people how I loathe mini golfing. Not when we were taking a vote to go, not when we were en route to the place, and not when I was invited to play a round. I just grabbed a putter and off I went. ... And ended up having a fantastic effing time, I might add! THIS Is what mini golf should be, people -- THIS! It's clearly a labor of love, tended to impeccably and so well thought out it borders on obsession. Every hole is fun, interesting, entertaining... I had an absolute blast, and without a single drop of alcohol, I might add. So yeah, I'll come back. I'll play mini golf, and I'll probably drink a little, too. The only thing that gives me pause and keeps me from giving it that glowing 5th star is the lack of seating, but hey, I'm pregnant and sitting is kind of my thing these days. Other than that, well done, Urban Putt! You made a believer out of me.

I saw the concept of this place on an article online before it opened, and I knew I had to come. Indoor mini golf and bar? I'm sold! Urban Putt actually lived up to my expectation despite being rather small. It's San Francisco. It's cramped and crowded, what do you expect? Parking in the area is pretty bad, you have been warned. Metered parking was a whopping $4.75/hr. The actual experience however was great. My friends and I arrived around opening at 4pm, paid our fee of $12/person and proceeded to begin with the 14 different courses. I was very impressed with the creativity and elaborate planning with some of the courses. My 2 friends and I went through the courses pretty quickly, and had a lot of fun. At the time that we arrived, there were a lot of kids, but towards the end, the older crowd began to trickle in. We skipped the bar and went else where for happy hour, so I can't comment on the bar. Overall, a very good experience!

I have an unwavering fondness for mini-golf, which was born and bred in NorCal as Scandia was just a hop, skip, and jump away from my hometown. Urban Putt is the trendy, hipster cousin to the beloved putt-putt palaces of your past. It's not overly polished, though, which I was happy for. There are still rough edges (literally) to be sanded down, and the whole place has a DIY aesthetic which is charming, and makes you want to take a shop class and go all Rube Goldberg in the backyard. Get here no later than 6pm if you want to have some swinging space. The entire course could fit in my open-floor plan dining room/kitchen, so it's a luxury to have an itty bitty amount of space. The holes are very inventive and whimsical. I loved the Día de los Muertos hole, the Transamerica windmill one, and the Jules Verne ship. The craft of these inner children's creations is exceptional. The food is sub-par (sorry, I have to pun here), but there's always dining afterwards, perhaps with some friendly wagers regarding who wins or makes a hole in one? The gophers appear to be non-existent, so Caddyshack lovers should be relieved. Hit the links and hit a birdie!

Based on the putt putt.. Went here after a Giants day game looking for more fun in the city. Didn't know what to expect as I was a first timer. Got there around 4, and there was a line waiting to get in! Once you get in , super smooth. The small course is super fun, great place to bring kids, or just looking for entertainment. Also has a bar and food , which we did not utilize...

I went here with 7 other people on Sunday and it was so much fun! Only $12 per person and we got to pick our own balls and putters. Each hole was an adventure in its own and very creative. The colors were also very bright and fun to be in. I didn't drink that night but there was a bar there for drinks and munchies. Such an awesome place and I will definitely be back with more friends.

Yes, they do have the most fascinating and unique mini-golf course* that I have ever seen. It's quirky and interactive and completely amusing and blah blah blah... But I've got two words for you: Hoop. Fever. This is the real draw, people. I love games, and other than pool, this is basically the best bar game there is. I will play this for hours on end if I happen to be with anyone remotely as obsessive as me. Also, you can drink (from their very solid tap selection, and better than decent cocktail menu) as you play Hoop Fever (or Pop a Shot, if that's what you know it as). As of right now you can't drink and putt, and drinking makes things more fun, in addition to making me better looking. ______________ *I do feel the urge to note that this is not a mini-golf course for golfers. It's less about putting skill than it is about different and fun ways to get a ball in a hole.

Congrats, you pulled it off Urban Putt! You're what every themed bar starts out hoping it will be... Awesome, and you've succeeded! I can't do it justice just how fun it is, but I'll try! You have the kitsch part with the putt-putt, but do they win in the drinks department as well? Absolutely! My manhattan was STRONG and well made. They don't mess around here! But the real fun starts when you put down the drink and pick up the putter! Note: you can't bring your drink on the course. Which is a bummer, but totally makes sense. The course was even better than I imagined it to be! I just thought with it being indoors and the spacing issues, it would be lame. But you putt and your ball goes in and out of tunnels, through and above walls and even into a pinball type machine. I just loved every second! Only thing better would have been if I won our round... But next time I'll be a champ!

This place is perfect for a casual hang-out with friends or a chill date night! The atmosphere is super cozy; it kinda reminded me of being at a holiday party with the trees & lights around them. I came here on a Thursday night with a friend and it wasn't super crowded which was nice. We got some beers at the bar before starting, then purchased our golf ball ($12 for 14 holes) to play. For a mini golf course in SF, this is pretty awesome since a lot of the courses were really creative and some of them represented SF buildings (transamerica building or the painted ladies anyone?), or the Dia de los Muertos course which was freakin' cool. I would definitely come back here again!

I had fun here but it is a really small space. I felt claustrophobic and there was no AC! It was a warm day and I was sweating inside the teeny mini golf area. It was a good thing there was hardly a wait as I have heard it gets pretty long. I wouldn't find myself back here again unless friends insisted. A-OK but nothing to rave about.

I, myself hate miniature golfing. Except when you add miniature golfing + indoor + alcohol, I love it! Whoever thought of that combination is brilliant. Urban Putt is like a playground for adults! Great for a small group of friends after work or just an outing or for a date. There are 14 golf courses and each of the courses have something unique, different and beautifully designed. Alcohol on the courses are currently not allowed. They are in the process of getting a license for it. Only groups of 4 are allowed at each course. So, you + 3 of your friends would be perfect! There wouldn't be much of a long wait in line as well the wait on the course. I suggest going there exactly at 4 pm or close to closing time which would avoid the super long lines. Word on the street is to go on the weekdays because there wouldn't be much of wait. However, when my friends and I showed up on a Thursday, there was a line wrapped around the block before the doors were open. Order drinks and wait in line. In no time, it'll be your turn. Down your drink because you won't be able to bring it on the course. Above Urban Putt, there is a restaurant. I've heard good and bad things about it. I haven't tried it, but I think it's pretty convenient how there is a restaurant. After you & your friends drink and play some putt putt, head upstairs for some grub. I can see Urban Putt be the current, hottest new thing in the city!

Cool concept but not quite the satisfying implementation. The course is fun, fairly creative and quirky but crowded. The food is so-so and the beer selection is pretty good. The vibe is strange because it's fool of young people who want to drink and have fun and families with kids, doesn't quite work. I was just an old guy with some co-workers stuck somewhere in the middle and observing it all.

Five stars for excellent service - hosting our group of 25 at a moment's notice, keeping the drinks flowing, and resupplying wine glasses again and again - all with a smile. This is an adult playground with arcade games and indoor put put, but not in a filthy bar atmo ...it's more of a antique-y, urban-chic setting. We took over the side room, which has skee-ball (my fave) and hoops; and don't forget about put put - but no drinks in the put put area unless it's a private event. As for drinks, they have a nice selection of wines - we consumed countless bottles of red - craft cocktails and beer. Bar bites ranch from mini corn dogs to pizzas. Great spot for date night (first date, double date, group date or casual outing), birthdays and other celebrations, company offsites and any other time you want to mix up the regular bar scene.

Most unique mini golf course I've been to.Each hole has its own theme that is difficult and cool to play and watch. Some holes have a Ruge Goldberg type. Only 14 holes but due to the complexity of each hole I still rate the course 5 stars.

This review is mainly for the golf, eventually, I want to try the food, have heard many good things about it. Food, Gold & Beer--- is there anything better? Im not a big fan of miniature golf, mainly since I tend to hit the ball as if I was Tiger Woods at Pebble Beach, so I spend half my time running after my ball, say excuse me and sorry to everyone around me, but I was pleasantly surprised with this place. This place is amazing and tons of fun despite how small it is. They have 14 holes, each one different from the next, and more challenging. Majority of the holes incorporate a lot of bay area landmarks, and are very innovative making this not your average putt putt game. My two favorite hole have to be the Video vision Hole & Dia de los Meurtos Video Vision- You basically hit your ball into a little slot under a giant screen and it moves the ball on the screen like a video game! Aside from it being the most frustrating hole there, it also ended up being my favorite, because I love Wii golf, and loved the fact they incorporated this into game itself. I was also very much intrigued by the Dia de los Muertos hole: You hit your ball into the hole, and get to watch the ball travel through the entire contraption while setting of different things, it reminded me of those giant gum ball machines you find in the middle of the mall, you really don't want the gum, you just want to watch it roll from the top to the bottom and do the little loopty loos, and hit things, setting off little chain reactions. The only downside is how busy it gets, so if you have a large group, come early. Other than that, this is a great place to drink, eat some good food and have fun with your friends.

Urban Putt is a large indoor mini golf with a decent sized bar. This place gets super packed, so my friends and I started with some drinks at the bar while waiting to get in line. (But you need to finish your drinks before you enter the golf area). They have a total of 13-14 holes with varying levels of difficulty. It's definitely a fun place to get together with your friends, while being able to mingle and cheer for other people while they putt. Highly recommended for dates, groups outings, and even kids. 4 STARS

Games, awesome snacks, and hearty cocktails? Sign me up! Peckish? Check out the bar bites menu and snack on chicken and waffle skewers and delicious corn dogs. And don't forget those sweet potato fries! Thirsty? Saddle up to the bar and ask one of the super amazing bartenders for a recommendation on a drink. Or choose off the fantastic cocktail menu. Feeling playful? Crisp up those dollar bills and go to town on the games in the "arcade" room (my work pals and I enjoyed the free throw game in particular) or grab a club and enjoy the delightful 14 hole putt putt course. As the course progresses you'll be taken through underwater sights, a day of the dead spectacle, and more. Their very cool use of the space and inventive use of tunnels and mechanical tricks makes completing the course extra special. Affordable and fun. Fantastic for a date night or for a night out with friends.

This place gets all 5 stars because I had such low expectations and Urban Putt blew me away!!! The creativity of the holes, alone, are worth a sixth star. Most were not overly difficult but they were just simply cool. I felt like a big kid in there. The virtual hole was awesome. I want one for my house. Then had dinner upstairs and after great starters (empanadas and skewered chicken) dove into deep dish pizza. Like the putt putt downstairs, the ingredients were uniquely amazing. It was delicious!!! Whether it's a team outing, a first date, couples night, or just hanging with friends, ur gonna have fun. TRY IT!!!

Take an old Victorian home, a Rube Goldberg Machine, Mini Golf, and a well appointed bar... mash it all together and you get Urban Putt! Located in the Mission District of San Francisco, we were able to walk right in, buy a round, and play. This is a such a fun and unique thing to do if you get the chance. We we're in the area killing time before our flight out of SFO and we were really impressed with the overall experience. The mini golf is some of the best I've personally played (inside or out) and the drinks were also delicious. For one reason or another they weren't allowing you to take drinks on the course while we were there which was sort of a head-scratcher. Kinda thought that was the whole point. I can only assume it had something to do with it being later on a Sunday night? Drinks in hand or not we had a fantastic time and look forward to coming back to try the food next time.

This review is for a recent corporate offsite I organized. The tl;dr version is everyone was delighted by the food and the venue, and having the event here made me universally loved in my organization. I recommend you host your next event here. My organization does quarterly meeting where each department provides updates in the morning, has lunch, and then does an activity. Often, these three pieces have to be spread across two or three different venues. Urban Putt was able to be our one-stop shop for everything. They were able to accommodate 60 people upstairs, and the staff was wonderful in dealing with some of my more demanding teammates (e.g. there was supposed to be no PowerPoint, but when someone insisted, Urban Putt made it happen). The staff was detail-oriented, to the point I mentioned in passing we were doing a 1950s theme and we were greeted by Frank Sinatra music when we arrived. Everyone was thrilled with the variety and quality of the food we had. My particular favorite was the chicken and waffle skewers, but everything was great. A couple of people made a point of telling me it was the best lunch they had had at one of these meetings. The afternoon was spent playing golf and skeeball. The golf course is beautifully made and a lot of fun. I really appreciate the help throughout the booking process and the day itself. Things went better than I could have imagined. Thank you Urban Putt!

My ball is better than yours. It glows in the dark. We're at hole #7 with an "Under the Sea" theme but Little Mermaid is nowhere to be seen. I have to putt my ball where?! Inside the Octopus' .... ya. THERE. Who is the creative genius behind Urban Putt? I'd personally like to shake their hand, buy them a drink and yell, "fore love!" because you won't know what hit you after a night at Urban Putt. Their drinks: STRONG. Be it rum, mezcal, bourbon, it will either be spiritous or easy to drink. But guaranteed it'll have mind numbing effects which will result in endless giggles and a roaring good time. Ok, it might not be all the drinks. It's the very original design of each of the 14 holes of mini-golf packed into an urban space. You like music? feeling like you're in a submarine? delighted by SF's iconic painted ladies and cable cars? how about celebrating the Dias de Los Muertos year-round? (this is THE coolest course!) pony up that $12 and have a blast playing mini-golf right here in SF. Officially, this is THE coolest place in the Mission. I'm going back, I don't care if it's teeming with hipsters.

Um, ok SF. You just got kind of cool. Restaurant upstairs, bar + mini golf + arcade downstairs!?! DROLFING (drunk golfing)?!!? SAY WHAT? We went here for a farewell dinner for our yelp friend Lauren Y. It's that sad moment when you and your friends all disperse after college graduation. #thefeels .::FOOD::. Chicken and Waffles Skewer $9: exactly what it sounds like. Chicken + waffles on a skewer and comes with maple syrup. It was quite enjoyable. Is it weird that I liked it here more than I did at Roscoe's back home? DON'T EGG ME PLEASE! Just my opinion. Came with about 6 quarter size pieces Poutine $11: Pulled pork with gravy over fries (comes with cheese but I opted out of it). I think the chef was a bit heavy when he was salting the dish. Overall, was good but a bit too salty to my liking. .::Customer Service::. AH-MAY-ZING. I wish I got her name. Our server was upbeat, friendly, funny, and just exciting to be around. She got all 15 people's order down correctly and checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. .::Parking::. -you know what? kind of sucks. As is the entire city of SF. But I was lucky and found one after circling for 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately, I was being grandma and left early so I didn't get to experience the mini golf with the rest of the group but I peeked it and the designs all looked amazing! The line was super long to get in though. Will return to try out the drinks at the bar and the mini golf! DROLFING ...Now that's what I call a good Friday night.

Good food and mini golf?!? YES!! Chicken and waffle skewers - fluffy super light waffles with crispy not salty fried chicken, with some syrup on the side. Mmmm! So delicious! It's a heavy appetizer, it could be a meal for one person Lamb sandwich -cooked medium rare with a deliciously fragrant sauce. The bread was perfect and almost rivaled Earl of Sandwich bread -soft, fresh, yet maintaining the sandwich without crumbling. This came with a hefty amount of sweet potato fries which were yummy as well Mini golf was a very unique course with fun obstacles, you just have to go there to experience it! I highly recommend this place, food and fun all in one!

Food, drinks, mini golf, why this place is quite a gem in the Mission. Upon walking in, you are able to buy your token to get a golf ball to play a nice round of mini-golf. For one person, it's about $12, which is reasonable. Note for people, kids are not allowed after 8:00 PM, so it's quite nice how Urban Putt diversifies the crowd, families during the day, and then a grown up crowd in the evening. Sadly, I did not get any food here since I had a burrito previously, so I can't comment on that. The drink was of standard fare here at a more steep price (maybe I am used to my East Bay prices) for about $6-$7 for a pint and $11 for a mixed drink. Their beer selection was great and the bar is not super crowded since everybody is trying to get in to playing mini-golf or eating food upstairs. Do not be deterred by the wait for mini golf since it does go by pretty fast and it is a nice way to sip on your drink while you wait and chit chat with your friends or date. Note that drinks are NOT allowed on the green, so consume your drink before taking your first swing. The mini-golf course itself is actually very great! With San Francisco themes (Transamerica, Painted Ladies) and quirky themes (Dia de los muertos, Jules Verne), Urban Putt definitely makes the mini-golf experience quite unique. For such limited space, they do a great job on the layout and diversity of the each hole. Each hole is unique and has a lot of fun aspects, and the course designers did a great job! This place is a great find for a night out in the Mission!
